Teresa Borello

I am a Pharmacist and herbalist (and bike enthusiast) and my work focused on the Gastronomy, Ethnomedicine and Ethnobotany of Western Alps in Italy where I conducted an extensive two years research field in order to help preserving a wisdom mainly kept by the elderly and therefore doomed to disappear, in this magic land that is now is environmentally threatened by the Turin-Lyon construction. The work started  with the peruse of Oulx  manuscript, a document of high anthropological, ethnomedical and sociological impact, describing traditional medical recipes, causes and symptoms of pathologies, plants and farming practices dating the author’s time (XVIII  century). More recently I carried out a project in Milan with the Moroccan migrant community researching their traditional cosmetic practices.
