I have been interested in ethnobiology since before I even knew what ethnobiology was. During my undergrad I was always finding interesting ways to combine my interest in science with studies in culture and language. It wasn't until my final year that I found a course in ethnobotany and realized that my two seemingly (at least for me!) divergent interests actually tied together in a fascinating way.  I've just completed my MSc in Sustainable Tropical Forestry through the European Erasmus Mundus program, where I completed a thesis project with the help of the Institut de recherche pour le developpement (IRD) based in Montpellier, France. This project was focused on analysing the potential of ecotourism to provide local communities in the Rif mountain region of northern Morocco with supplemental income.  I'm fascinated by language and culture and look forward to meeting everyone at the conference!
